[English]

Aim: This research aims to investigate the effect of eight weeks of Pilates training along with silymarin consumption on the levels of liver enzymes in women with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Matarial and methods: In this semi-experimental study, 40 women with non-alcoholic fatty liver were randomly divided into four groups: Pilates training (N=10) with an average age of 42.2±8.68 years and an average weight of 79.8±4.7 kg, and Silymarin supplement (N=10) with an average age of 43.3±4.66 years and an average weight of 79.2±5.92 kg, and Pilates training with Silymarin supplement (N=10) with an average age of 39.8±7.72 years and an average weight of 82.5±5.35 kg, control group (N=10) with an average age of 40.1±8.97 years and an average weight of 81.1±5.02 kg. The Pilates group performed Pilates training for 60 minutes three days a week for eight weeks. The Silymarin supplement group took 140 mg silymarin capsules three days a week (after meals) for eight weeks. the Silymarin supplement group and the control group did not participate in the training activities. To analyze the data, dependent samples t-test and analysis of covariance (ANCOCA) were run using SPSS 26 at a significance level of P<0.05.
Finding: The results of statistical analysis showed that the levels of liver enzymes ALP, AST, ALT decreased significantly after eight weeks of Pilates training with Silymarin consumption (P<0.05).
Conclusion: Based on the findings, 8 weeks of Pilates training along with Silymarin consumption can have a beneficial effect on improving liver enzymes.
